Silver Reed continues to produce knitting machines with unparalleled quality and follows the traditions of the Singer and Studio brands. Three gauge ranges are available in these modern and accessable knitting machines. There are a variety of optional accessories for most of the machines.

The SK280 and SK840 machines are standard gauge machines utilizing most lace, fingering and light sport weight yarns. Patterning is accomplished by 24 stitch punch-cards or electronicly depending on the model chosen. A ribber is available for both of these models to double the needle bed and facilitate ribbed stitches in the same carriage pass.

The wildly popular LK150 machine is the most affordable mid-gauge option, which uses the widest range of commonly available hand knitting yarns in sport, dk and worsted weight yarns. This machine is the one used in our classes because it is light weight and easy to bring to and from the store.

The SK155 is a bulky, 12 stitch punch-card machine and accomodates dk, worsted, aran and light chunky yarns.

The LK150 and SK155 are on display in the store and available for demonstration or for in-store rental to knowledgeable machine knitters.

DesignaKnit 8 Software is an integrated garment shaping and stitch pattern design program for hand and machine knitting. Four product levels are available: Handknit, Machine Standard, Machine Pro and Complete. Prices vary by module, call for details.
